Dr. Johannes Steinbauer has been a German and European patent attorney since 2021. He has worked for the law firm Lederer & Keller as a patent attorney since then and was associated as Partner in 2023. He is a trained chemist and has specialized in intellectual property rights in the pharmaceutical and chemical fields. Furthermore, he deals with the legal field of trademark protection.
Dr. Steinbauer studied chemistry at the University of Bayreuth until 2014. In 2018, he completed his doctorate at the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis e.V. at the University of Rostock. During his academic career, he focused in particular on catalysis, organic synthesis, CO2 chemistry and polymer chemistry. He completed his training as a patent attorney in an internationally oriented patent law firm in Munich, at the German Patent and Trademark Office and at the Federal Patent Court.
Dr. Steinbauer has broad experience in drafting patent applications and in patent grant proceedings before both the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office. One focus of his work is in the area of opposition and opposition appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office.
Dr. Steinbauer is a member of the Patentanwaltskammer (German Association of Patent Attorneys), the EPI (Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office) and the FICPI (International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys).
