Dr. Samuel Wieser

Master of Science (Biochemistry), German Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney

Dr. Samuel Wieser studied biochemistry at ETH Zurich. He received his PhD from the University of Cambridge, where, at the Wellcome/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute, he investigated the molecular mechanisms of the human cell cycle using biochemical, molecular biological and cell biological methods, followed by a year as a research associate.

Dr. Wieser has been working in the field of intellectual property law since 2016 and is a German Patent Attorney since 2019 and a European Patent Attorney since 2021. His work covers all areas of biotechnology, genetic engineering and pharmaceutical chemistry. In addition to patent grant proceedings, his work focuses in particular on opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office, nullity proceedings before the German Federal Patent Court and the Federal Court of Justice, and the drawing up of infringement and validity opinions.

Dr. Wieser is a member of the Patentanwaltskammer (German Association of Patent Attorneys), the EPI (Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office) and the FICPI (International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys).
